After changing the wireless number associated with my email account, I was able to successfully re-enter my password through the Apple Mail App and confirm my identity with the new wireless number. I was then able to login to that site, view my account profile, and change the wireless number associated with my email account (thus all sub-accounts, too). Please choose a different number and try again.” After reading through some of the support suggestions on managing the wireless number associated with your User ID (your email), this particular ATT login site did not associate my new updated phone with my cell phone number when trying to verify my identity…it accepted the 6-digit code without giving me the usual “Error: Looks like there was a recent change to that number. I believe I found a “back door” into the AT&T system or at least a login platform that doesn't communicate with their other login sites. There is no place or option to choose a different number. I then enter the 6-digit code within the allowable time and the screen then tells me "Looks like there was a recent change to that number. I click Send Code, which I then receive the 6-digit code via text message on my cell phone. FYI, that screen doesn't allow me to enter a different automatically populates my cell number and is not alterable. It shows my cell phone number (which is an AT&T cell number) and a button to "Send Code". We'll send you a code to verify your identity"). On the new iPhone, I'm prompted to re-enter the password for my att.net email account in my Apple Mail settings, because the password didn't port over. I use the Apple Mail app for my att.net email account (yahoo settings). The cellular number has stayed the same.just upgrading my phone. I previously had an iPhone 12 Pro Max with AT&T cellular service. I just setup my new iPhone 14 Pro Max with AT&T cellular service. ![]()
